Houseboat the Robbedoes has an unique, quiet and beautiful location on the river Eem on the outskirts of Amersfoort. The historic city centre of the bustling Amersfoort is in the immediate vicinity (2 km – 8 minutes by bike). The location of the Robbedoes is easily accessible by both train and public transport. Railway station Amersfoort is situated at 2km, a 30 minutes’ walk, but of course I will be more than willing to pick you up. There are free parking places in front of our door. Thanks to our central location, The Robbedoes is the perfect operating base to visit the centre of Amersfoort or to enjoy the beautiful nature in the area! We also offer bike rental.

Historic town centre

You should definitely visit the historic city centre of Amersfoort. It offers a lot of highlights!

1.   Perfect shopping city
Amersfoort is a perfect city for shopaholics. De Langestraat is a well-known shopping street with all kinds of special boutiques and various shops. We also recommend the Sint Jorisplein and the Utrechtsestraat!
2.  Round trip
You can enjoy a round trip through the city centre of Amersfoort. De Waterlijn sails through the canals of Amersfoort almost every day. The skipper will tell interesting stories about the history of Amersfoort and the well-known spots. The round trip departs from the Krommestraat, where you can buy a ticket (€ 5).
3.  Sporty
Climb the 98 mtr high Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren! At the top of this tower you will enjoy a magnificent view of the city. During guided tours the legend of the tower will be told.

Every week markets are organized on Friday and Saturday, in and around the centre. On Friday you can visit a flower market, a fish market and a commodity market. On Saturday the weekly market and a flea market.
