Would you like to wake up in the former skipper’s house, relax and experience what it is like to live on the water? This is your chance! A stay on a houseboat is really special. When the wind blows you gently roll on the waves, you hear the rippling water, you see boats and canoes passing by and you hear coots and ducks quacking. As guest of our Bed & Breakfast you will stay in the former skipper’s house, which will be completely at your disposal. It consists of a living room, two bedrooms, bathroom, wheel house and many outdoor seats. The hospitable hostess Anneke and her skipper Wim will guarantee a wonderful stay!


The entrance

The Robbedoes is located at Havenweg 19k in Amersfoort. In front of the door there are a couple of free parking places. You can enter the Robbedoes through a large gate, over the quay and then through the front door. On your right hand you will find your private part of the ship. The hall will lead you to the salon (living room) with bedrooms, bathroom or wheel house (through stairs). You will have your own key, so you can leave and enter the Robbedoes whenever you want. You will always have the entire skipper’s house for yourself. During your stay, your hostess Anneke will be at your disposal!

The salon

This is your living room during your stay. To preserve the authentic feeling, the living room has been furnished in the original 60’s style. It’s a wonderful place to relax and make use of all available facilities. The windows offer a lovely view of the water. There are also the doors to the two bedrooms.

The salon offers below facilities:

·       Minibar (use at a fee)

·       Coffee-maker (inclusive of pads)

·       Electric kettle (inclusive of tea bags)

·       Large cupboard amongst others with radio/CD/record player, LP’s, board games, badminton rackets, magazines and books

·       Dining table with four chairs

·       Sitting area with sofa and two chairs

·       Central heating

·       WiFi


The bedrooms

During your stay two bedrooms will be at your disposal: the red BB (BakBoord) and the green SB (StuurBoord). The beds have been made for you. Their size (1.20 x 2.10 mtr) might be smaller than your own bed, but that’s the charm of ship’s life. You may determine if you use one or both bedrooms. After all, the entire skipper’s house will be at your disposal. Both rooms offer below facilities:

·       Hanging wardrobe and cupboard with shelves

·       Towels

·       Fleece blanket

·       Window with insect screen and blackout roller blind

·       Electric heating

The bathroom

The skipper’s house has a completely renovated modern bathroom with wide washbasin, wall-hung toilet and spacious walk-in shower.

·       Blow-drier

·       Shampoo and soap


The wheelhouse

Imagine yourself being a skipper and enjoy this wonderful place to unwind. You can sit here as much as you like! In the early morning sun you can enjoy the awakening water life, in the evening you can relax and unwind. You can also start your day with breakfast in the wheel house.  

The wheelhouse consists of two benches and one table with two bar stools. The wheel house has central heating, so temperatures will even be pleasant in the cold winter months.

Outside

Outside there are plenty of possibilities as well! During your stay you can make use of the deck behind the wheel house, the bow and the quay. You can relax in the sun, enjoy water life or simply stretch your legs. Behind the Robbedoes you will find a large platform where you can sit with your legs in the water. On the quay you will find a badminton set and dart board. We have also four rental bikes available. Plenty of possibilities to enjoy an unforgettable stay!
